Fake Jeff

Charlton v Rotherham, The Valley, Monday 2nd April

Easter Monday dawned and a look out of the window showed a shedload of snow

With nothing planned I pottered about all morning doing houseworky things before settling down in front of the ironing to watch fake Jeff. I’m not a big fan of his appearance on the rolling results as it usually signifies a defeat for us. He was joined by the Z team of ‘experts’, one of whom was Ryan Mason. He recently had to retire young, and one can only assume that he needs money and Sky feel sorry for him as he has the personality of a slug.

The games kicked off and almost immediately Fake went to The Valley. Will vaulkes had hit the bar then headed over. Good start. I continued to iron and Ryan continued to bore me with his voice. ‘Anything happening at Burton Ryan,’ the perky Fake Jeff asked. ‘Er...... Mmm... erm. Burton have scored. A shot. Went in.’

I turned all the machines off and went upstairs to carry the ironing to find ian was watching escape to the location, location, location in the Sun. Hmm. By the time I got back down to the cellar and turned all the machines back on Fakey was just explaining how Charlton were now in the play off places because of the goal. Hmm mm. 1-0 Charlton. Luckily nothing else seemed to happen at Burton and we didn’t need to go back to Ryan. Neither did anything else happen at The Valley.

After that it seems we imploded rapidly with Charlton scoring again (2-0) and again (3-0). A late rally from a Richard wood goal was too little and we lost again, 3-1. Luckily there were not many millers there to see it.

It seems the ironing was the better choice

Next up Fleetwood at home
