Downs and an up

Bradford city vs Rotherham, Sat 16th sept, Northern Commercial Stadium (AKA Valley Parade). 1-0

We always like travelling to Bradford. One of vickys first away games was there, on her 15th birthday. We lost 3-0. Gary Roberts, notorious gambler, drinker, and all round bad boy scored from the half way line then celebrated like a seagull there in a pulsating 4-2 victory, Never to be seen in a rotherham shirt again. And who could forget 17th April 2013. The winner would almost certainly claim a play-off place. Leading 1-0 we were under heavy Bradford pressure. In the 95th minute their keeper went up for a corner. In the ensuing scramble the ball broke to Kieran Agard who ran the length of the pitch to slot home in front of the delirious Millers following.

Well I could forget it, as I was not there! I was working.

I rose that morning to,find that Misty had knocked her medication box off the side, shredded loads of foil rappers, and eaten loads of tablets. We had a great big mess to clean up. She seemed ok so we left her at Grandmas and set off for Bradford. We headed for our usual parking spot, a small car park near the ground with a hole in both the fence and the floor. To,our dismay it was no longer there, a lot had happened since 2013. So we swung back round and found another one a bit further away. Not bad at £2.50. We left Ian's new car and set off for the ground.

New car, new car parking place

We timed our arrival all wrong though, as the beer buses had just pulled up. The queue at the turnstiles grew especially as the searches were very thorough. We got right to the front before being told to get in the next queue where a woman was searching, right to the back. Eventually we entered the ground and found our spot on row u upper level. We always seem to end up at the very back near the yobbos. The seats were really small, with hardly any leg room, but quite a good view.

We were just under the T in the little  TLDallas

From this position we had a clear view of the traffic lights on the floodlight. ??. Any ideas? We spent the warm up thinking up scenarios for its presence.

There was also a lovely rainbow in the spray

It was the same team as midweek, with Keiffer Moore recovered from his injury. It was a tight first half, but Bradford stole in to score from a cross. Once again we concede from a header. We pressed hard with Bradford players making a double miraculous goal line clearance.

Half time it was 1-0 to Bradford.

Second half was nip and tuck with good chances for both sides. We tried really hard but it wasn't to be. In the last minute Joe Mattock upset Ian with a rash challenge leading to a sending off. The final score was 1-0 to Bradford.

On the way home we called at a Chiquitas, drowning our sorrows with Margatitas and Mex on the beach (2 for 1!)

Next up Oldham

The return of toilet watch

You can tell we have dropped down a league. Three toilets for the whole of the away end. Scruffy shed with water in the floor. Hardly flush. Smelly. Dirty.

3/10

Man of the match

Jackie - Taylor

Vicky - Moore

P.s. The up? We managed to climb a place in the table from 9th to 8th!
