Fixture release day excitement

'Tis a fact universally acknowledged that the most exciting day of the close season is fixture release day. This year Vicky, ian and I awoke to the sound of waves gently lapping on the shore of Lake Tahoe, California, USA. As we sat on the balcony sipping coffee, we perused said list for notable games, and to see which ones we would miss.

Fixture release day

First up, we were at home for the first time on the 12th august, and we would be in Spain. Darn it. First game of the season was to be away at Fleetwood though, on Ian's birthday. A day at the seaside, fish and chip dinner, and football. What more could an old man ask for. Both Mel's and Rachel's weddings were On a home game. Double darn it. We were also home for the last match in May, our promotion celebration, vs Blackpool.

Paul Warne had signed some players over the summer, an improvement on last year, and the fans were quietly confident. Of winning a few games at least. It looked set to be an exciting league one year.
